Guided by a passion for improving patient outcomes and a commitment to excellence, Dr. Sven Kohler is dedicated to driving innovation and shaping the future of pharmacovigilance and patient safety. As the EU Qualified Person for Pharmacovigilance (EU-QPPV) and Head of Regional Patient Safety & Pharmacovigilance at Boehringer Ingelheim, he leads the strategic oversight of pharmacovigilance activities across regions, ensuring compliance with European regulations and protecting patient safety.
He has held a variety of other leadership roles in his tenure at the company, most recently serving as Chief of Staff for the Human Pharma Business Unit. Before joining Boehringer Ingelheim, Sven held progressive roles in risk management and clinical leadership at Novartis.
Sven’s focus on pharmacovigilance and patient safety is influenced by many years of medical training and experience. He graduated from medical school at the University of Heidelberg after an internship at the University of Cape Town. He is a board-certified surgeon, trained at the Charité in Berlin and the University Clinic in Frankfurt.
