Allison Cuff Shimooka
COO, TransCelerate BioPharma Inc.
Allison serves as the Chief Operating Officer of TransCelerate BioPharma Inc. In this role, Allison is responsible for translating TransCelerate’s strategic vision into operational plans in close partnership with the leadership team, Member Companies, and Board of Directors. She is also responsible for advancing TransCelerate’s engagement strategy.
Prior to joining TransCelerate, Allison was the Senior Vice President of Strategy and Product Innovation for Optum Life Sciences, which offers end-to-end real-world evidence solutions including data, analytics, and consulting. Allison oversaw Optum Life Sciences expansion beyond real world data and evidence generation, into adjacent areas such as clinical trial enablement. She has led the build out of a network of EMR-connected clinical trial sites, launched a protocol design feasibility and patient finding platform, and worked to develop EMR-enabled data management capabilities to support real world/pragmatic post approval clinical studies. Previously, Allison held a variety of leadership roles across her 17-year tenure with the Advisory Board Company, a membership-based best practice, technology, and strategy company. In her penultimate role, she served as a member of the research division’s executive leadership team, leading the marketing, product and operations functions.
Allison received her MBA in health care management from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, where she was named a Palmer Scholar. She received her undergraduate degree in chemistry cum laude from Dartmouth College. Prior to joining the Advisory Board, Allison worked in strategy at PPL Therapeutics, a biotechnology company in Edinburgh, Scotland, and at LEK Consulting, advising biotechnology, medical device, and health services companies on a variety of strategic issues.
