Partnering with Sites to Provide a More Inclusive Environment for All
Featured Solution: Sponsor Toolkit Site Engagement and Capacity Building Considerations for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion of Participants in Clinical Trials (DEICT)
In an effort to increase diverse participant enrollment through better partnerships with sites, a sponsor found a different and innovative way to support choice sites. The sponsor saw an opportunity to support its sites through additional training on how to better engage with diverse populations and provide a more inclusive environment.
The sponsor’s Diversity Strategy team made a business case for getting the training approved and leveraged TransCelerate’s Toolkit materials to gain leadership support for the training initiative. The company began its training program through a pilot with five different sites. Feedback on the training content so far has been overwhelmingly positive.
Efforts to partner with sites to enable greater enrollment and improved retention of underrepresented patient populations in clinical trials can improve key outcomes such as increased confidence in future approved therapies and reduction in the risk of unforeseen consequences among diverse patient populations.
